About Me
Experience
I earned my B.A. in Special and Early Childhood Education from Mercer University and a Master’s in Education with a specialization in Inclusive Education and Reading. Over the past two decades, my professional journey has encompassed roles as an elementary classroom teacher, special education teacher, gifted education teacher, instructional coach, ESE Program Specialist, and international educational consultant. I currently serve on the board of the International Dyslexia Association–Florida Branch, where I advance the organization’s mission by supporting children and families with language-based learning differences and equipping educators with the knowledge and practices necessary to serve students with dyslexia effectively.
Certifications
I hold a Master’s in Special Education and Reading, a Florida Teaching Certificate with Gifted Endorsement, and a Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia from the University of Florida. Following completion of the UF program and demonstrated mastery of the Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading (KPS), I earned recognition from the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) as a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist.
Family
My husband, Jason, and I are proud parents of two daughters. Surrounded by a large, close-knit extended family—including eight aunts and uncles—our girls enjoy endless laughter and cherished memories. As a family, we especially love creating lasting experiences together at Disney.
